Community Mission Week
June 10 – 16, 2018

What is Community Mission Week?

Each year, our Student Ministries participate in an annual mission trip usually to John's Island, South Carolina. This year, we're doing something different...we're inviting everyone to participate in this "Johns Island" experience, right here in Kingsport! As Christians, we're called to love and that includes those right here in our community. Join us through a week of service and mission as we experience and share the love of Christ together!

Who can participate?

Everyone is invited to participate. To attend, please signup prior to May 31 as we will need to plan food, lodging etc. We encourage all members to participate and to invite any family and friends who would like to as well. Once you signup, you'll receive a liability waiver, medical form, and media liability release form to complete your signup.

Where will we stay?

We understand due to medical issues, comfort, age, etc, most participants will stay at their own homes in Kingsport through the week. However, strongly encourage specifically our students, youth, and young adults to stay at KCC in the Family Life Center as we'll be "recreating" the Johns Island experience.

What types of projects and organizations are we working with?

We're currently in process to see what projects we could participate in with the following organizations throughout the week. An exact list of projects and partnerships will be announced by the end of May:

  • United Way
  • Church Mobilization Network
  • Friends & Neighbors
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Jefferson Elementary School
  • Ross N Robinson Middle School
  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • Shades of Grace UMC
  • Hope Haven
  • Carpenter Helpers
  • Cleft of Rock
  • YMCA
  • Small Miracles
  • Humane Society
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Jubilee Project
